The Brother printer HL 4200CN is a color laser jet printer with many functions. The printer is a not the normal desk top printer weighing in at 77.2 lbs., it is rather large 17.3 x 23.2 x 17.5 in but performs rather well for its little size compared to the old printers that all are pretty much used to. This HL 4200CN printer would be a great addition to any office that needs moderate pages per month 60,000 pages printed. Brother has come through in the printer genre with flying colors.
The HL 4200CN can print in color and black at 1200x1200 dpi. Dpi means Dots Per Inch; this refers to the quality of imagery or words that appear on the page. The variance on ppm (pages per minute) between a high quality page and normal doesn’t vary for this HL 4200CN printer. This model operates at 26ppm for black and 26ppm for color. This HL 4200CN printer has a standard 1 tray input with an optional tray size increase. The HL 4200CN printer can hold 500 pages for standard print with a max storage 1000 for standard print with the tray size increased, with 100 inputs on the multi-purpose tray, and is able to use many forms of printing stock. The HL 4200CN printer is mainly designed for network printing which means that this printer is capable being used on cat5 network or these connections as well TCP/IP, User defined port numbers - IPX/SPX - Netware, Bindery/NDS - AppleTalk (Ethertalk) supporting ASCII and Bindery mode printing – NetBEUI however for wireless networks, there will be needed extra equipment. For a network printer, this price is relatively cheap for the quality, however it is important to know that if any printer is used out of its scope or design, it will not be as effective as one would expect. So just remember that each printer has its function and to use it within that function. The HL 4200CN will not let any small to large sized office or workspace down by any means.
